AKT booking problems: what to check before contacting RCGP

Short answer. Most AKT booking problems are either a payment/instalment timing issue, a Pearson VUE scheduling step that has not updated yet, or a training-record mismatch (e.g. Fourteenfish ST2/ST3 status). RCGP and Pearson VUE, not Medexia or any revision provider, are the only authorities who can fix these. This page just helps you identify which category your problem falls into before you contact them.

Payment and instalment issues

RCGP allows staged payment for the exam fee. If a second instalment is missed or a booking is cancelled for non-payment, candidates in public threads report needing to contact RCGP directly to ask about reinstatement rather than assuming a missed deadline is final (example thread, checked 15 Oct 2026). We have not found a published RCGP policy stating whether reinstatement after a missed instalment is guaranteed. Start with RCGP's own application and regulations pages: exam applications and regulations for exam applications (both checked 15 Oct 2026).

Pearson VUE booking link fails after paying

Candidates have reported the Pearson VUE scheduling link not working immediately after RCGP payment confirmation (example thread, checked 15 Oct 2026). Before assuming something is broken:

  • Check whether RCGP's own confirmation email states a delay between payment and the Pearson VUE link becoming active.
  • Confirm you are using the exact RCGP candidate reference, not a personal Pearson VUE account created separately for another exam.
  • If the link still fails after the stated delay, contact RCGP exams support directly rather than Pearson VUE, since the booking record originates with RCGP.

RCGP does not publish a specific delay between payment and the Pearson VUE link becoming active; check RCGP's exam applications page for current booking guidance (checked 15 Oct 2026).

Training-record or eligibility mismatches (e.g. Fourteenfish)

Some candidates' booking issues trace back to their training record (such as Fourteenfish ST2/ST3 status, or GMC/RCGP membership status) not matching what RCGP's booking system expects. A thread discussing this recommends checking exactly which training details RCGP cross-checks before raising a support ticket (example thread, checked 15 Oct 2026). This is a training-programme administration issue, not a revision-content issue, so your training programme administrator or deanery is usually faster to resolve it than RCGP exams support alone.

What Medexia cannot help with

AKT Navigator has no connection to RCGP's booking system, Pearson VUE, or your training record. If you have a booking problem, the fastest route is RCGP exams support, backed by your training programme administrator for any training-record question. This page exists only to help you identify which of the three categories above your problem falls into.
